Huaneng Electrolysis of Water Hydrogen Production case was selected into the White Paper of the Summer Davos Forum

On June 28, the 2023 Summer Davos Forum (the 14th Annual Meeting of New Leaders of the World Economic Forum) released the Green Hydrogen in China: A Roadmap for Progress White Paper, in which Huaneng Pengzhou's innovation demonstration project, which produces hydrogen via electrolysis, was selected as the only demonstration case of green hydrogen efficiency reduction.

This innovation demonstration project is located in the Petrochemical Park of Chengdu New Materials Industry Functional Zone. It is led by China Huaneng Group Clean Energy Research Institute and Huaneng Sichuan Hydrogen Technology Company, and invested and constructed by Huaneng Sichuan Branch. It includes two sets of electrolytic water hydrogen production systems, and the lifting of the electrolytic cell was completed on June 1st. This system is the first 1300 Nm3/h (standard cubic meter per hour) electrolysed water hydrogen production system in the world. After being put into operation, it can produce 1,890 tonnes of high-purity green hydrogen annually, which can fully meet the operation needs of existing hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in Chengdu and support the planning and construction of the "Chengdu Chongqing Hydrogen Corridor".
