Recently, the ceremony “Contributors to Common Prosperity” was held in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, organized by the Investment Committee of the Office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Shahbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, awarded Huaneng Sahiwal Power Plant the Outstanding Commitment Medal Towards Shared Prosperity Through China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in recognition of its contributions and efforts in the aspects of power supply assurance, employment promotion and social responsibility fulfillment.

Shahbaz Sharif highly recognized the commitment made by the awarded Chinese enterprises to CPEC projects and expressed heartfelt thanks to their contributions in promoting the friendship and economic cooperation between China and Pakistan. He said that in the future, Pakistan will support the high-quality development of CPEC, bringing more benefits to the two peoples.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the construction of the CPEC. The award of Sahiwal Power Plant highlighted Huaneng's contribution and influence in the field of China-Pakistan energy cooperation, and its unremitting efforts to promote the Belt and Road Initiative.
