The grid-connection ceremony of Huaneng Shidao Bay High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor demonstration project was successfully held


On December 20, the grid-connected ceremony of Huaneng Shidao Bay High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor(HTGR) demonstration project, the world's first HTGR power station with the characteristics of the fourth generation advanced nuclear power system , was held in Shidao Bay Nuclear Power Station. More than 100 people from China Association for Science and Technology, Shandong Provincial Government, relevant national ministries and commissions, universities, industry associations and participating units participated in the construction witnessed the connection to the grid of the demonstration project on site.

 

The successful grid connection of Shidao Bay HTGR power station marks the fact the world's first HTGR with the characteristics of the fourth generation advanced nuclear power system has achieved a qualitative leap from "laboratory" to "engineering application" in China Huaneng, and China has achieved the "China leading" of HTGR nuclear power technology.
